As a company of people who have individually acknowledged Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord, and have been born again as children of God, we dedicate ourselves to Him and declare ourselves to be a Church of Jesus Christ, a habitation of God through the Holy Spirit for the preaching of the Word, the observance of the Lord’s Supper and Believers’ Baptism and for carrying out His purposes on earth as He shall direct and enable by His Grace. As such we commit ourselves wholeheartedly to the following beliefs:

a) We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. (Deut 6:4, Gen1:1)

b) We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God who is both true God and true man. We believe in his all-sufficient sacrifice for sin by his death on the cross, his bodily resurrection, his ascension into heaven and his coming again in glory. (John 1:1-5, Heb 4:14-15, 1Cor 15:3-4, Acts 1:9-11)

c) We believe in the Holy Spirit who is one with the Father and the Son in the Godhead. We believe that he indwells every Christian believer and is the source of our spiritual life, obedience to God and Christ‑like behaviour. (1Cor 2:10-13, John 14:16-17, Rom 8:9-11, 5-8).

d) We believe that through sin human beings are under God’s judgment and are unable to redeem themselves. We believe that a sinner is put right with God through faith in Christ alone, expressed in repentance from sin and commitment to our Lord Jesus Christ. (Rom 3:23, John 3:16, Acts 2:38, Rom 12:1)

e) We believe that Christ is the supreme head of his body the Church, in which every believer is equipped by God for specific purposes. We believe that the Church is called to glorify God in worship, preach the gospel throughout the world and build itself up in love. (Col 1:18, 1Cor 12:7, John 4:23-24, 1Pet 2:9, Matt 28:19-20, Eph 4:11-13)

f) We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, completely reliable as originally given, and that it is our supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2Tim 3:16-17, Ps 119:105, 2Pet 1:20-21).
